I am quite sure there are people who will come to me and say otherwise but who cares.
Affinity Designer not only exceeds my expectation in terms of functionality but it also impresses me for its ease of picking up and ease of use.
I have been using Adobe products for so long it was hard for me to imagine not using them, especially Photoshop and Illustrator whilst it was also hard for me to imagine there will ever be other softwares that are functioning as powerful as them. He is an illustrator and pattern designer based in Bali and in 2018, he did a live art session at Apple Singapore. Affinity Designer has been used to make beautiful illustrations, infographics, page designs, logos and typography. The examples of artworks and designs I have seen on the Internet are both impressive and inspiring. Affinity Designer has proven to be a very versatile and powerful app while your creativity and imagination is the limit to what you can produce with it. So far I have been impressed by all the different artworks and designs created by different artists from all over the world. It’s basic functions and capabilities are sufficiently powerful for professional artists and freelancers on a budget. It becomes the low-budget alternative to Adobe Illustrator and with the latest updates, it also functions as a Photoshop alternative too. In terms of function and usability, Affinity Designer is impressive. I have been learning the app since I got it a couple of years ago. Since then, there are many reviews and product demonstration on the Internet and Youtube. In 2018, the Windows version won “Application Creator of the Year” at the Windows Developer Awards (Wikipedia – https ://en./wiki/Affinity_Designer). In 2015 it became one of the winners of Apple Design Award. In 2014, Affinity Designer was selected as a runner-up in Apple’s Best of 2014 list of Mac App Store and iTunes Store content in the MacOS app category. I suppose many have converted to using Affinity products after Adobe announced that they will be going into subscription basis. I bought all 3 products and for Affinity Designer, I have both versions for the iOS and the MacOS for the desktop.
Unlike Adobe’s products, Affinity offers one time payment and not by subscription basis. I bought mine directly from the website during a sale. The apps are available for direct purchase from the Serif website and Mac App Store and iOS App Store or the Microsoft Store. It is part of the “ AFFINITY TRINITY” alongside Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher. Affinity Designer is a vector graphics editor developed by Serif for MacOS, iPadOS, and Microsoft Windows.
